It’s not a July 4th party without a BBQ right?! With so many people looking for alternatives in serving a vegetarian friendly version of everything, we thought we’d give you 3 different hotdog recipes here. Each hotdog contains one of our Korean sauces or Kimchi. We will introduce to you our super spicy Korean Fire Chicken sauce. Dare your friends to a hotdog with this sauce on it and see if they can pull of the challenge.
1. Kimchi Meatball Hotdog
2. Hotdog with Fire Chicken Sauce
3. Mushroom Dog
Kimchi Meatball Hotdog
How to make:
Mix the Kimchi, sauce, and the meatballs into a bowl and mix together.
Add to a pan on medium heat and cook until desired.
Add the cooked meatballs with Kimchi on a bun and serve.
Since it has the Kimchi, it’ll have a slight crunchy texture with each bite. These are perfect for people who aren’t fan of hotdogs and prefer meatballs instead.
Hotdog with Fire Chicken Sauce
Our second recipe is for your everyday hotdog, but with a twist of our super spicy Korean Fire Chicken Sauce. They’ll never know what hit them, but will be pleasantly surprised at how flavorful it is. Once they start, they won’t be able to stop.
How to make:
Boil the hotdog franks in boiling water for about 5 minutes.
Take out and cool before serving or add to buns and serve so people can add whatever toppings they want.
We added all 4 toppings for this recipe and highly recommend it. It. Is. Amazing…My mouth is drooling just thinking about it again.
Now we don’t want to leave people who are more vegetarian friendly out! So we also included a hotdog recipe with mushrooms instead of the usual hotdog franks. Here’s how you make it.
1 of Portobello mushrooms thinly sliced (You can use any type of mushroom you like.)
¼ of an onion thinly sliced
2~3 of a mini sweet pepper thinly sliced
2 Tbsp of Ajumma Republic Korean BBQ Sauce
How to make:
In a small bowl add the Korean BBQ Sauce and add 3 Tbsp of water to it and mix well.
Add the Veggies and sauce into a pan over medium heat and stir for 5 minutes.
Add it to hotdog buns and serve.
*Tip: You can grill the hotdog buns until browned or lightly charred before serving with each topping. We’ve also heard of people buttering and then grilling the buns to give them more flavor.
With all three of these recipes, how can you not be the best host?! You will satisfy a lot of stomachs depending on what people like. To top it off we served them in these reusable hotdog sleeves and it just adds to the BBQ vibe.
